Emergency Operations Flood Response and Post Flood Response

To provide emergency flood response and post flood response assistance as required to supplement State and local efforts and capabilities in time of flood or coastal storm.



Agency - Department Of Defense

The Department of Defense provides the military forces needed to deter war and protect the security of the United States through five major areas: peacekeeping and war-fighting efforts, Homeland Security, evacuation and humanitarian causes.

Office - U. S. Army Corps of Engineers or District Engineers listed in Appendix IV of the Catalog.



Program Accomplishments

The Corps conducts 50 to 250 flood emergency operations annually.

Uses and Use Restrictions

Emergency assistance is provided in all phases of flood response and post flood response to supplement State and local efforts.

State and local governments must use their own resources to the maximum extent feasible, usually including the furnishing of common labor.

No specific restrictions are placed on such assistance.
