Social Enterprise Wins Funding to Get Vulnerable Women Back into Work and Education

Women's Business Station, a new social enterprise in Dundee, received £10,000 funding from the Government's Tampon Tax Community Fund for a project aimed at empowering women supported by four Dundee charities.

The funding aims to provide a free service to charities supporting women affected by mental health, alcohol and substance abuse, and crime.

Launched in November 2019, Women's Business Station, builds on the legacy of the Coca-Cola 5by20 Dundee programme which offered courses and support for local women wishing to set up their own business.

The Government's Tampon Tax Fund allocates funds generated from the VAT on sanitary products to projects to improve the lives of disadvantaged women and girls. The fund is managed by Foundation Scotland.
