USAID Local Governance Strengthening Activity in the Kyrgyz Republic

Activity Purpose Statement - citizen-centered, local service delivery approaches expanded nationally.

Achieving the Activity purpose of expanding citizen-centered, local service delivery approaches nationally, requires achievement of the following three sub-purposes (SP):SP1:
Expand effective


service delivery of citizen-prioritized services.SP2:
Increase citizen engagement in municipal decision-making.SP3:
Broaden ownership of citizen-centered governance approachesIt is anticipated that the Activity will target between 20 to 50 municipalities (ayil aimaks and/or cities) in four oblasts:
Issyk-Kul, Jalal-Abad, Naryn, and Osh.

USAID proposes targeting two rayons in each of the four oblasts with approximately four target LSGs per rayon so as to maximize opportunities for peer-to-peer learning.
