NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC), Phase III
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Headquarters, has released a solicitation, titled "NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC), Phase III," as an Appendix to the Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD) NASA Research Announcement (NRA), titled "Space Technology
Research, Development, Demonstration, and Infusion – 2020 (SpaceTech-REDDI-2020)," on December 11, 201 9. Complete details (to include due dates) can be accessed via the following steps:

Select "NIAC Phase III Solicitation Document" under Announcement Documents The NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) Program supports innovative research through Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III awards.
Phase III studies are typically a two year effort designed to strategically transition the most promising NIAC concepts to other NASA programs, other government agencies, or commercial partners.
There are two steps to the Phase III proposal process; a Mandatory Preliminary Proposal (MPP), followed by submission of invited Final Proposals.
Eligibility:
This Appendix is open this year (FY 2020) to all categories of U.S organizations with current or successfully completed NIAC Phase II studies, as well as prior Phase II studies completed under the predecessor NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts.
For FY 2021 and beyond, it is anticipated that only successfully completed or active second year NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts Phase II awards will be considered eligible for Phase III award.
NIAC Principal Investigators (PIs) and team members may be affiliated with any educational institution, commercial or not-for-profit organization, research laboratory, agency, or NASA Center (including the Jet Propulsion Laboratory).
Teaming by non-U. S. organizations, in proposed efforts, is permitted but subject to NASA’s policy on foreign participation defined in section 3. 3 pf SpaceTech-REDDI-202 0. Proposers and Co-Investigators must register in the NSPIRES (https://nspires.nasaprs.com).
All proposals must be submitted electronically through NSPIRES by an authorized organizational representative (AOR).
Detailed submission instructions are provided in the SpaceTech-REDDI-2020 NRA, as well as the Guidebook for Proposers Responding to a NASA Funding Announcement (April 2018).
Potential proposers and their proposing organizations are urged to familiarize themselves with the submission system, ensure they are registered in NSPIRES, and submit the required proposal materials well in advance of the deadline.
Any updates to this Appendix will be posted on the NASA Solicitation and Proposal Integrated Review and Evaluation System (NSPIRES) page for this Appendix (https://nspires.nasaprs.com/external/).
