Development of SNP markers for parentage assessment, and population genetics of razorback sucker

Notice of Intent to Award Only - Next generation sequencing approaches allow researchers to survey the entire genome for variable markers that can be useful for a diversity of purposes including gender determination and development of individual specific genetic markers that can be used for a variety


of purposes such as examination of reproductive success.

This project will use next generation sequencing to identify DNA-based markers that will allow for gender determination, of razorback suckers, from small amounts of tissue (e.g., a fin clip) and use next generation sequencing to develop DNA-based markers for population studies of razorback sucker.
