PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The U. S. Embassy in Iraq of the U. S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a program to build capacity among civil society organizations in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region and Kirkuk governorate.

Priority Region:
Iraqi Kurdistan Region, with particular emphasis on civil society organizations headquartered in Sheikhan, Halabja governorate, and Kirkuk governate.

Program Objectives:
Civil society organizations across the Iraqi Kurdistan Region depend on an ever-shrinking pool of money, largely from international organizations, Embassies and Consulates, and other foreign donors.

In order to ensure the long-term viability of Iraqi Kurdish civil society, many of these organizations need additional training in fields including:
(1) management & leadership skills; (2) donor development & grant writing; (3) budgeting and project management; (4) external communications; (5) and strategic planning.

Participants and Audiences:
The chosen audience should focus on those described under “Priority Region.” The minimum number of participants shall be 2 0.
