FY 2022 and FY 2023 Competitive Funding Opportunity: Competitive Grants for Rail Vehicle Replacement Program (Rail Program)

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the opportunity to apply for $600 million in Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 and 2023 Section 5337 State of Good Repair Program funds (Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance #2 0. 525) authorized for competitively selected rail vehicle replacement projects.

required by Federal public transportation law and subject to appropriations, funds will be awarded competitively to States and local governmental authorities to assist in the funding of capital projects to replace rail rolling stock.

Eligible applicants under this program are also those eligibile for Section 5337 funds.

This eligibility is composed of States and local governmental authorities located in Urbanized Areas (UZA) with fixed guideway or high intensity motorbus systems in revenue for at least seven (7) years.
