The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Administration for Native Americans (ANA) announces the availability of fiscal year 2013 funds for community-based projects for the Native American Language Preservation and Maintenance - Esther Martinez Initiative.

The purpose of ANA grant funding is to is to support Native communities to be self-determining, healthy, culturally and linguistically vibrant and economically self-sufficient.

Native American communities include American Indian tribes (federally-recognized and non-federally recognized), Native Hawaiians, Alaskan Natives, and Native American Pacific Islanders.

The Esther Martinez Initiative provides funding to support three-year projects being implemented by Native American Language Nests, Survival Schools, and Restoration Programs in accordance with P.L.

Non-profit organizations representing American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and Native American Pacific Islanders, including American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands are eligible applicants under this announcement.
