National Resource Center on Nutrition and Aging

ACL/AoA will hold a competition for a cooperative agreement to operate a National Resource Center on Nutrition and Aging (NRCNA).

The successful awardee will provide for training, technical assistance and support to the States' Units on Aging, Area agencies on Aging and Nutrition Program

providers in every State, Territory and the District of Columbia.

ACL/AoA's objectives for the new cooperative agreement cycle include but are not limited to the following:
1. enhance the skills, knowledge, business acumen and sustainability of the OAA Title III nutrition and aging network and 2. increase the availability of information on OAA Title III programs and practices showing promise of successful integration of the nutrition network into the home and community based services network.

The mission of the NRCNA is to equip Title III aging network organizations with timely, relevant, and high quality opportunities that build knowledge and skills among nutrition and aging professionals in a variety of roles at all levels of professional development.

Additionally, the NRCNA works to enhance the OAA Title III aging network’s knowledge regarding the role of nutrition services in health promotion and disease prevention, and the scientific and clinical evidence that support both healthy meals and other nutrition services.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be expected to have demonstrated knowledge and a proven track record of expertise concerning the nature of nutrition for older individuals and the business of Title III nutrition program administration within the Older American Act (OAA) aging services network.

Foreign entities are not eligible to compete for, or receive, awards made under this announcement.

Faith-based and community organizations that meet the eligibility requirements are eligible to receive awards under this funding opportunity announcement.
