Notice of Funding Opportunity Bioethics and Disability Report Series

The National Council on Disability (NCD) is seeking proposals for a report series on bioethics and disability.

The report series will examine policies and practices related to the availability of medical interventions and life-saving medical care for people with disabilities.

It will examine

credit:


five specific areas where disability and bioethics intersect, with a focus on how a person’s disability impacts medical decisions:
organ transplants; medical futility; physician assisted suicide; genetic testing for fetal disability; and Quality Adjusted Life Years.

Each report will make findings and recommendations aimed at improving access to life-saving medical care for people with disabilities, and improving the understanding of policy makers and the medical community on the value of the lives of people with disabilities.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Any public or private nonprofit entity located in any one of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, U. S. Virgin Islands, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, Guam, Republic of Palau, Federated States of Micronesia, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands is eligible to apply for a grant under this announcement.

Faith-based organizations and American Indian/Alaskan Native/Native American (AI/AN/NA) organizations are eligible to apply for these Title X family planning general training and technical assistance cooperative agreements.

Private nonprofit entities must provide proof of nonprofit status.
