10-week Online Academic Readiness Reading Writing Program

The U. S. Embassy New Delhi is requesting proposals from American universities (preferably those with a program that offers a Masters (MA) degree for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages - MATESOL) to have their American MATESOL students facilitate academic readiness coursework specifically

to develop academic reading and writing skills through online, virtual programming for Indian students enrolled in Indian universities.

American MATESOL students will gain valuable teaching experience facilitating online classes to international students.

Students will take pre-program surveys to self-assess their skills as well as post program surveys to measure one dimension of the change in skill level.

Timing for the online courses should be approximately fall 2020 (September – November) and/or spring 2021 (February – April).

Project Goals:
To provide Indian university students an opportunity to improve their academic English Language skills so they are better prepared for their academic studies in India.

The opportunity could also benefit those Indian students poised to study in the United States and who need additional academic readiness skills prior to departing.

To offer American MATESOL students distance-education teaching experience (Please refer to the full announcement available under 'related documents tab')
