Lower Mekong Initiative (LMI) Environment and Water Pillar Training Program (PTP)

The Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental, and Scientific Affairs (OES) at the U. S. Department of State (DOS) requests applications for a cooperative agreement to support a new training and inter-governmental policy dialogue program on water and environment issues in the Lower Mekong Region

(Myanmar, Lao PDR, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam).

DOS is interested in building technical capacity within government ministries to manage environmental resources in a sustainable manner while advancing regional cooperation.

DOS is seeking to enter into a Cooperative Agreement with one, or a consortium of several non-profits, non-governmental organizations, or international organizations to establish and implement the LMI Environment and Water Pillar Training Program (PTP).

The Cooperative Agreement will support the creation of a coordinated training program and policy dialogue under the Lower Mekong Initiative (LMI), designed with input from LMI-country representatives, to strengthen regional capacity to cooperatively manage shared natural resources and build regional resilience to climate change.
