U.S.-Chile Trade-Related Environmental Cooperation: Energy Efficiency in Chile

The Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs at the State Department announces a Request for Applications (RFA) for an Energy Efficiency project in Chile.

The proposed project should demonstrate how it will develop and improve energy efficiency practices, policies,

and technologies through 1) increasing energy efficiency in companies that have agreed to take part in voluntary clean production agreements through work that demonstrably reduces the companies' energy intensity and emissions; 2) implementing regional energy efficiency strategies to produce demonstrable results; 3) and/or working with the Chilean Ministry of Energy to strengthen and implement policies and regulations, such as Chile's 2015 energy efficiency bill, to improve resource efficiency.

DOS will also consider other innovative, results-oriented energy efficiency partnership ideas.

In the world of social enterprises, failure is a cringe-worthy moment nobody wants to talk about. But, social entrepreneurs can benefit from their failures.
