English Teaching Program

The Public Diplomacy Section of the U. S. Embassy in the Republic of Moldova works to build mutual understanding between Moldovans and Americans.

We do this through support of English-language instruction.

Our English-language programming funds support the English-language community in

Moldova.

Learning English for Moldovans is a route to economic empowerment and a gateway to an appreciation for American culture and values.

We offer grants for programs and activities that support English-language programs.

Grants generally range from $15,000 to $50,00 0. This funding opportunity is authorized by the Foreign Assistance Act of 196 1. Strategic Priorities and Program Goals Priority Region: N/A Strategic Priority Themes for the 2023 financial year are:
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) Supporting Independent Voices Sharing American Values We encourage innovative and creative proposals that go beyond just language-learning and use English as a medium to support the aforementioned themes.

Special consideration will be given to projects that involve participants on both banks of the Nistru river.

Program Objectives:
To build and promote mutual understanding between Moldovans and Americans through support of English-language instruction To strengthen English teaching and learning in Moldova To promote American Culture in Moldova Participants and Audiences:
The U. S. Embassy welcomes projects that have a balanced gender approach and include minorities and other marginalized groups in their activities, where possible, and keeping in mind the strategic priority themes.

Applicant organizations are also encouraged to reach audiences on both banks of the Nistru river.
