Alabama NRCS Technical Outreach and Education for Fiscal Year 2021

Notice of Funding Opportunity Summary The Alabama NRCS, an agency under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), is seeking support from and opportunities to partner with likeminded natural resource conservation partners.

The overall intent of this solicitation is to solicit partnerships

to help provide outreach and education on USDA-NRCS programs in Alabama.

Proposals will be accepted for projects performed in Alabama.

NRCS anticipates that the amount available for support of this program in FY 2021 will be up to $600,00 0. Agreements awarded in pursuant to this NFO may be 1-5 years in duration.

This notice identifies the objectives, eligibility criteria, and application instructions.

Applications will be screened for completeness and compliance with the provisions of this notice.

Incomplete and/or noncompliant applications may be eliminated from competition and notification of elimination will be sent to the applicant.

The Alabama State Conservationist reserves the right not to fund any or all applications.

NRCS will accept applications under this notice for single or multiyear applications submitted by eligible entities.

Awarding agency staff cannot support applicants regarding Grants.gov accounts.

Questions regarding this notice of funding opportunity (NFO) may be submitted until April 30, 202 1. Responses to questions posed will be posted on Grants.gov approximately two weeks before the application due date.

The agency anticipates making selections by June 14, 2021 and expects to execute awards by August 1, 202 1.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
The following organizations are eligible to apply: Established, registered, and active grassroots community-based organizations (CBOs) and FBOs; Youth Networks registered with the National Youth Council and the District Social Welfare that are currently working within the community; and Non-profit organizations, including civil society/non-governmental organizations, which are working directly with communities to address the HIV pandemic in Malawi and that are registered with Council for Non-Governmental Organizations (CONGOMA) and the NGO Board.

*For-profit, commercial entities and individuals are not eligible to apply.   Organizations, including FBOs are eligible to receive funds under this agreement for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, or care; Shall not be required, as a condition of receiving such assistance: (1) To endorse or utilize a multi-sectoral or comprehensive approach to combating HIV/AIDS; or (2) To endorse, utilize, make a referral to, become integrated with, or otherwise participate in any program or activity to which the organization has a religious or moral objection; and Shall not be discriminated against in the solicitation or issuance of grants, contracts, or cooperative agreements for refusing to meet any requirement described above.

Organizations with currently running projects funded by PEPFAR Small Grants Program may apply but must propose activities and goals that are substantially different from those in the currently funded project.
