Notice of Intent: Sustaining USArray Capabilities in Alaska

Notice of Intent is issue a cooperative agreement to the University of Alaska, Fairbanks in support of the project entitled "Sustaining USArray Capabilities in Alaska".

This project will transition 43 seismic stations that are part of National Science Foundation’s temporary EarthScope

USArray deployment in Alaska to the stewardship of the Alaska Earthquake Center (AEC).

The transfer of 43 seismic stations to AEC will allow these sites to be integrated into the routine regional seismic network operations and for them to be adapted to the most efficient and cost effective real-time operation as quasi-permanent installations.

This activity is necessary to sustain the 43 seismic stations for data collection purposes in order to benefit seismic monitoring in Alaska.
