Grants for Adaptive Sports Programs for Disabled Veterans and Disabled Members of the Armed Forces (Equine Therapy Grants)

The VA NVSPSE Program announces the availability of up to $5,000,000 (subject to the availability of Federal funds) for the VA Adaptive Sports Grant Program's Equine Therapy Grants.

adaptive sports, training, and other opportunities for Veterans and members of the Armed Forces with disabilities.Applications for general adaptive sports proposals not focused on addressing mental health issues through equine therapy will not be considered under this NOFO and must be submitted to Funding Opportunity Number VA-SPORTS-2 5.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
An applicant must qualify as a Non-Federal Government entity with significant experience in managing a large-scale adaptive sports program, as defined in 38 C.F.R.

§ 77.2, for persons with disabilities if those disabilities are the same as those of Veterans with disabilities, and members of the Armed Forces with disabilities.

“Significant experience” and “large-scale” are addressed in 38 C.F.R.

§ 77.2.

Must manage the grant in a non-profit capacity.
