$25k Grant to Sustain Conservation Reserve Program

Agency - Colorado State Conservation Board

The Colorado State Conservation Board has awarded state grant amounting to $25,000 to the Morgan Conservation District. The objective of the grant is to keep Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) acreage in grass and not break it out for cropland.


Among the advantages of the CRP acreage are healthy rangeland, reduced soil erosion and improved wildlife habitats. The water quality in the water shed will also improve due to reduced soil erosion and less use of pesticides.
