State Grant to Help Train Health Workers

Agency - Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation

Local officials has been provided a $309,000 grant to train workers for new health care jobs. These new jobs are projected to come online during the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) across Maryland.


In collaboration with 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, the labor union that represents Maryland workers and employers, the Maryland/DC 1199SEIU Training and Upgrading Fund works with health institutions to provide worker training programs.
