FY 2013 National Criminal History Improvement Program (NCHIP)

The goal of the NCHIP grant program is to improve the nation’s safety and security by enhancing the quality, completeness, and accessibility of criminal history record information and by insuring the nationwide implementation of criminal justice and noncriminal justice background check systems.

Eligible applicants are limited to the agency designated by the governor in each state to administer the NCHIP program, and federally recognized tribal entities.

States and tribes may choose to submit applications as part of a multi-state consortium, multi-tribe consortium, or other entity.
