Federal Home Improvement Grants ProgramsThe Housing and Community Facilities Programs from the U.S. Department of Argriculture provides a number
of homeownership opportunities to rural Americans,
as well as home improvement grant and loan programs for house renovation and repair.
HCFP also makes financing available to elderly, disabled, or low-income rural residents
of multi-unit housing buildings to ensure they are able to make rent payments.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development offers he Section 203(k) home improvement program
which is its primary program for the rehabilitation and repair of single family properties.
As such, it is an important tool for community and neighborhood revitalization and for expanding
homeownership opportunities.
