Additional Information of Eligibility:
The National Association of Public Health Statistics and Information Systems (NAPHSIS) is eligible to apply for this funding opportunity.

No other applications will be accepted.

The eligible applicant is limited to NAPHSIS because its primary mission is the support of the State vital statistics and vital records programs.

The vital records are State-owned, are governed by State laws and regulations, and are provided through State operated registration systems.

Since there is no Federal mandate requiring States to collect and/or report birth and death information to NCHS, a State vital statistics improvement program involving all 57 jurisdictions can only work if implemented through the State vital records agencies and their association.
