More research is needed for improving fish passage technologies, both in terms of cost and efficiency, for many fish species among different river systems.

Through two topic areas, the Water Power Technologies Office is looking to fund research focused on innovative upstream and downstream fish passage solutions to effectively provide volitional fish passage while reducing both construction and operational costs compared to existing methods.

Topic Area 1 – Testing the Effects of Innovative Fish Passage Technologies (2 Subtopics) Topic Area 2:
Advancing Innovative Methods and Technologies to Improve Fish Passage (2 Subtopics) This is a Notice of Intent (NOI) only.

EERE may issue a FOA as described herein, may issue a FOA that is significantly different than the FOA described herein, or EERE may not issue a FOA at all.
