The Sikes Act provides funding to enhance cooperation between the Department of Defense, Fish and Wildlife Service and States to promote fish and wildlife conservation on military lands while continuing to support their military mission.

This Single Source Award is being awarded in accordance with Department of the Interior Policy 505 DM 2.14 B (4) Unique Qualifications which allows for award without competition to an applicant.
This recipient is uniquely qualified to perform the stated project objectives in that they have extensive experience in studying fish and their habitat resulting in numerous scientific peer-reviewed journal publications.
