U. S. Geological Survey (USGS), Geosciences and Environmental Change Science Center (GECSC) is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research in ¿Understanding the long term dynamics between climate, water and carbon in northeast Alaska¿.
USGS and GECSC are actively involved
in a project on the Holocene hydroclimate of the Yukon River Basin of Alaska and the Yukon Territory, Canada.
Within this broad research effort are a number of paleolimnological projects in the Yukon Flats National Wildlife Refuge (YFNWR) designed to investigate past climate-water-carbon dynamics that are in need of additional technical support.
This funding opportunity is in support of interactive and collaborative research involving interdisciplinary problem solving at multiple temporal and spatial scales by both USGS and university scientists.
The recipient will collaborate with USGS GECSC researchers to participate in data analysis, interpretation and publishing, and co-advise a post-doctoral researcher, or graduate student.
