The US Geological Survey, Great Lakes Science Center is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner to conduct research to improve our understanding of the nature and function of biodiversity of the Great Lakes aquatic ecosystem using molecular genetic data.
Genetic data provides information
about taxonomic relationships, stock structure, interactions among different populations, and the relationship of morphological or life history differences to genetic diversity.
Understanding patterns of genetic diversity can provide management agencies in the Great Lakes region with information that can be used to reach or design management goals.
