American Indians into Psychology

The Indian Health Service (IHS) is accepting competitive grant applications for the American Indians into Psychology Program.

This program is authorized under the authority of “25 U.S.C.

1621p(a-d).”, Indian Health Care Improvement Act, Public Law 94-437, as amended by Public Law 102-573


and Public Law 111-14 8. The purpose of the Indians into Psychology Program is to develop and maintain Indian psychology career recruitment programs as a means of encouraging Indians to enter the behavioral health field.

This program is described at 9 3. 970 in the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance.

Costs will be determined in accordance with applicable Office of Management and Budget Circulars.

The Public Health Service (PHS) is committed to achieving the health promotion and disease prevention objectives of Healthy People 2010, a PHS-led activity for setting priority areas.

This program announcement is related to the priority area of Educational and Community-based programs.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Public and nonprofit private colleges and universities that offer a Ph.D.

in clinical programs accredited by the American Psychological Association will be eligible to apply for a grant under this announcement.

However, only one grant will be awarded and funded to a college or university per funding cycle.

Rivaayat began with reviving a 20,000-year-old art form of pottery that is a means of survival for 600 families residing in Uttam Nagar, Delhi.
