Eligible applicants under this FOA are limited to the following: States, including each of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa.
Local Workforce Investment Boards, established under section 117 of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (Pub.
L.

105-220).
Institutions of higher education as given the term in section 101 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C.
1001).
Indian tribes and Tribal organizations as determined by section 4 of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (25 U.S.C.
450b).
Tribal colleges and universities as defined by section 316(b) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C.
1059c(b)).
A sponsor of an apprenticeship program registered under the National Apprenticeship Act.
Community-based organizations.
For the purposes of this announcement, ACF defines "community-based organizations" as private, non-profit organizations that are representative of the communities, or significant segments of the communities, in which the proposed health professions education and training project is located.
Non-profit organizations applying for funding under this FOA are required to submit proof of their non-profit status as described in Section IV.2, The Project Description, Part II, Legal Status of Applicant Entity." Faith-based and community organizations that meet eligibility requirements are eligible to receive awards under this funding opportunity announcement.
Individuals and foreign entities are not eligible for awards made under this announcement.
