Funding to Support Safe Livelihoods for Informal Gold Miners

The Australian National University (ANU) and Minelab won an Australian Government grant to research for safer ways to prospect for gold for informal miners in South and Southeast Asia.


Dr Kuntala Lahiri-Dutt, a senior fellow at ANU with Minelab led the research. The funding was granted under the Australian Research Council Linkage program, which promotes collaboration between public researchers and private industry.
