Theoretical Nuclear Physics

The National Science Foundation provides funding on an unrestricted basis (anyone with qualifications can apply) to support research in theoretical nuclear physics.

If performs research which includes theoretical advances, model building, applications for experimental programs.

Through its Nuclear Theory Program it delves into the structure and reactions
of nuclei, and of hadrons in few-nucleon and nuclear environments, and the quark/gluon substructure expressed by quantum chromodynamics (QCD).
