Study of Tunisian Populations Susceptible to Violent Extremism
The program goal is to ensure reliable information on VE-susceptible populations feed into the discourse Tunisian policy makers have on CVE policies, programs, and approaches.
To this end, it will support a rigorous, in-depth study (focus groups/interviews) of VE-susceptible populations in Tunisia such as former fighters, families or friends of persons who have joined VEOs, and self-identified persons who have been sympathetic to VE.
The project will produce reliable information on VE-susceptible populations; disseminate findings to policymakers, civil society, and at-risk communities; and allow Tunisian communities to develop recommendations based on findings to strengthen resilience to VE.

A Gilesgate-based shop and community facility, Hexham’s Core Music, launches a separate workshop where up to six people will be trained how to repair guitars and make ukuleles. The European Social Fund grant supported the project and has secured funds through the County Durham Communication Foundation to equip the workshop in Burn Lane.
