U. S. Geological Survey’s (USGS) Powell Center is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU Partner for research on “Are we experiencing a riverine silicon surge? Implications for the global carbon cycle.” This research will quantify and synthesize the magnitude, spatial extent, seasonality,


and drivers of changing river silicon (Si) stoichiometry (e.g., ratios of Si to nutrients) over time at the global scale.
