Vision Screening in Young Children Program

This notice announces the opportunity to apply for funding under the Vision Screening in Young Children Program.

The purpose of the program is to improve children’s vision and eye health through early detection, follow-up, treatment, and surveillance at the national, state, and community

levels for children under 5 years of age, including traditionally underserved populations,1 and those residing in medically underserved areas.2 The recipient will be expected to:
1) Serve as a national resource at the national, state, and community-levels on children’s vision and eye health; and 2) Convene an advisory committee to provide guidance to the Vision Screening in Young Children Program on achieving improved children’s vision and eye health.

Any domestic public or private entity, including an Indian tribe or tribal organization (as those terms are defined at 25 U.S.C.

§ 450b) is eligible to apply.
