Regional Pediatric Pandemic Network
This notice announces the opportunity to apply for funding under the Regional Pediatric Pandemic Network program.
The purpose of this program is to coordinate among the Nation’s children’s hospitals and their communities in preparing for and responding to global health threats, including the coordination, preparation, response, and real-time dissemination of research-informed pediatric care for future pandemics.1 The Regional Pediatric Pandemic Network (the “Network”) will be comprised of five children’s hospitals or their affiliated university pediatric partners in geographically diverse areas across the United States that will work collaboratively across institutions to plan and implement the work of this cooperative agreement.
The Network will coordinate the Nation's children’s hospitals and other pediatric experts to strengthen partnerships with existing local, state, regional, and national emergency preparedness systems to ensure the needs of all children are addressed within preparedness and response activities.
This program will fund one award.
You must submit a proposal to support a network of five identified children’s hospitals or their affiliated university pediatric partners that collectively meet the criteria described in the Section III:

The primary recipient (center that is listed as the grantee of record on the Notice of Award) is one of the five Children’s hospitals or their affiliated university partners.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Eligible applicants include children's hospitals (centers) as defined by section 340E of the PHS Act (Public Law 106-129) or their affiliated university pediatric partners.21 You will demonstrate eligibility according to 340E of the PHS Act (Public Law 106-129).
The primary recipient (center that is listed as the grantee of record on the Notice of Award) is one of the five Children’s hospitals or their affiliated university partners.
While you, a single entity, must submit the application and accept legal responsibility for managing the project, you must propose to support a network of five (inclusive of your institution) children’s hospitals or their affiliated university pediatric partners that collectively meet the following geographic criteria: • At least one center in a state within both the Delta Regional Authority and Appalachian Regional Commission.22 • At least one such center at a pediatric hospital in each of HRSA's regions V and VII.
23 • At least one such center in HRSA region VIII or X.24 • At least one such center at a pediatric hospital that is a primary National Institutes of Health Clinical and Translational Science Award grantee or a partner that contributes to the budget request of an academic medical center's application at the time of this application.
To confirm eligibility, you must include a letter from the institutional authorized organizational representative (AOR) / business official in the application that confirms they meet the criteria based on the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) grant and describes the relationship between their institution and the CTSA Hub.
Include letters of commitment in and documentation of eligibility from the children’s hospitals or their affiliated university pediatric partners that are proposed members of the Network in Attachment 4 and complete Attachment 6, following the instructions provided in Section IV.2 Project Narrative, subsection vi Attachments.
After receiving applications, HRSA will confirm that you meet all of these eligibility criteria prior to your application being submitted for review.
