No Woman Left Behind: Coordinated Strategy to Increase Workforce Footprint

The goal of this project is the formation of a regional network that will foster women's active participation in the workforce, and advocate for policy changes within government as well as private sector companies to enable a more inclusive work environment.

The project will promote public

communication campaigns and a concerted effort by the media fraternity to highlight the issue in terms of challenging mindsets and applauding the long-term economic, social, and health benefits of women in the workforce.

When key stakeholders are convinced of the benefits of women in the workforce, they will be motivated to enact gender sensitive labor laws, corporate strategy, and gender-responsive budgeting at the local, state, and national levels.

Project Objectives:
This project will engage a minimum of 150 and a maximum of 300 stakeholders from the government, private sector, media, and non-profits across South Asia through a series of 10-12 virtual and in-person networking events, dialogues and workshops, and a final conclave over a period of 18 months, to create a regional network of informed voices that will continue to advocate with governments as well as create campaign-partnerships with social and private sectors to address the alarming decrease in women’s workforce participation in South Asia, with a particular focus on India.
