Integrated Preclinical / Clinical AIDS Vaccine Development Program (IPCAVD) (U19 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

The purpose of the Integrated Preclinical/Clinical AIDS Vaccine Development Program (IPCAVD) Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to facilitate the translation of vaccine candidates into early clinical testing.

The IPCAVD program is designed to enable a multi-disciplinary team to complete

necessary steps from final down-selection of an advanced vaccine candidate through regulatory submissions needed for clinical trial(s).

These steps include technology transfer, process development, optimization, assay development and qualification, analytical testing, cGMP manufacture, quality assurance oversight, safety testing, product release, drug substance and drug product stability testing program, IND-enabling studies, and regulatory submissions.

This FOA will not provide funds for conducting the clinical studies; applicants are encouraged to collaborate with NIAID-supported clinical trial networks or to develop other relationships to support the clinical studies.
