U.S. Embassy Amman Public Affairs Section Alumni Annual Program Statement

The U. S. Embassy Amman Public Affairs Section (PAS) is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Alumni Grants Program.

This is an Annual Program Statement, outlining our funding priorities, the strategic themes we focus on, and the procedures for submitting requests


for funding.

Please carefully follow all instructions below.

Awards will be made to successful applicants subject to the availability of appropriated funds.

Purpose of Alumni Grants:
The Public Affairs Section (PAS) at U. S. Embassy Amman, Jordan, administers an Alumni Grants program to support projects initiated by Alumni of programs affiliated with the Public Affairs Section in Amman.

Proposals may be submitted by Alumni who have participated in Public Affairs Section Amman-managed exchange programs, Alumni of the English Access Microscholarship program in Jordan, and the Inspire program in Jordan.

Awards may be granted up to $25,00 0.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Grants will be awarded to individuals who are an alumna or alumnus of a U. S. Government-sponsored exchange program, including the Access program in Jordan and the Inspire program in Jordan, or to an organization, as listed below, directly affiliated with the alumnus/alumna.

Alumni may create project groups with other alumni or other non-alumni in Jordan to carry out the award.

The below-listed organizations and institutions may receive the grant if the alumnus or alumna is an active participant in the organization and will actively work as the primary contact for the award.

• Registered not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations with programming experience• Individuals

Three social enterprises were recognized at the 2013 President’s Challenge Social Enterprise Award for their major contributions to society. SATA CommHealth and Bliss Restaurant landed Social Enterprise of the Year titles, while Bettr Barista Coffee Academy bagged the award for Social Enterprise Start-up of the Year.
