Cambodia Democratic Reforms Program

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Cambodia is issuing this Request for Applications (RFA) for a four-year Cooperative Agreement titled “Cambodia Democratic Reforms” to “improve political competition and government accountability” in Cambodia.

To this end,

the program places particular emphasis on strengthening democratic systems and increasing the participation and leadership of women and youth in electoral and political processes.

The total estimated cost of the program is $ 8. 5 million.

This award will advance USAID Cambodia’s five-year Mission-wide goal to accelerate Cambodia’s transformation to a democratic and prosperous country.

The program is designed to build on USAID’s long-standing development assistance program, which began in the post-United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC) period from 1993-1994, and has included activities to promote fair electoral competition and political participation.

Most recently USAID has implemented the six-year, $20,710,000 Accountability in Governance and Politics Program (A-GAP) that will conclude on September 30, 201 5. The program falls within the Governing Justly and Democratically (GJD) Objective of the U. S. Government’s (USG) Foreign Assistance Framework, and supports USAID’s five-year Country Development Cooperation Strategy 2014-201 8.
