Deciphering the Impact of RNA Modifications on Brain Aging and AD/ADRD (R21 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

The purpose of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to catalyze innovative research to elucidate the molecular landscape and functional implications of RNA modifications in brain aging and Alzheimer's disease (AD) and AD-related dementias (ADRD).

AD-related dementias include Lewy

body dementia (LBD), frontotemporal dementia (FTD), vascular cognitive impairment/dementia (VCI/D), and mixed dementias. This NOFO supports exploratory and developmental grant (R21) applications focused on uncovering novel mechanisms underlying RNA modification-mediated processes and their impact on brain aging and the pathogenesis of AD/ADRD.

Proposed studies should focus on functional characterization and mechanistic investigation of previously identified RNA modifications.
