State Grant to Continue Sunoco Refinery

Sunoco and The Carlyle Group has received a state grant to support the newly formed Philadelphia Energy Solutions. With the help of the grant, the refinery will continue to process around 330,000 barrels of oil a day, saving an estimated 850 jobs, and potentially create at least 100 more.


In addition to retaining refining capabilities, Sunoco and Carlyle officials plan to refurbish and expand the site which will help the environment through reduced waste and emission, and reduce reliance on foreign oil supplies.
