The project will fund sites to participate in the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network and will enhance surveillance activities at both prior and newly participating sites through two funding components.

CP and ID) among 8-year-olds.

Component B funds surveillance of ASD among 4-year-olds.

Component A is required for all applicants, while applying for Component B funding is optional.

In this FOA, five project period short-term outcomes will be achieved through five strategies and their corresponding activities.

The five expected outcomes include:
improved understanding of ASD & other DDs, including trends and disparities in ASD prevalence over time; improved understanding of the implications of the change from DSM-IV TR to DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for ASD; stronger relationships with partners and data sources; increased dissemination of ADDM data; improved reliability and efficiency of ADDM surveillance.
