The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends to issue an amendment to a Single Source Grant Agreement Award without competition to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (Foundation) for efforts to cooperatively conserve Monarch butterflies and their habitat.
Funding is being provided
to ensure the recovery of monarch butterflies and the habitats on which they depend.
The Service is providing support for:
monarch habitat restoration on National Wildlife Refuges; development of conservation plans across the Monarchâ¿¿s range; community and youth engagement efforts; and private landowner habitat restoration.
The Monarch Fund is an effort by the Service to help focus and maximize the conservation and restoration activities taking place on private lands.
The Monarch Fund also is an instrument for the Service to use to engage other federal agencies and private companies and foundations in the recovery of monarch butterfly populations.
