Housing Counseling Training Program

Program Purpose.

Funds are available to provide, under cooperative agreements with HUD, training activities designed to improve and standardize the quality of counseling provided by housing counselors employed by ?participating agencies.? Participating agencies are all housing counseling and

credit:


intermediary organizations participating in HUD?s Housing Counseling Program, including HUD-approved agencies, and affiliates and branches of HUD-approved intermediaries, HUD-approved Multi-state organizations, and state housing finance agencies.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Applicants must be public or private nonprofit organizations and must have ?tax exempt? status under section 501(a) pursuant to section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (26 USC) 501(a) and (c)(3).

Applicants must have at least two years of experience providing the majority of types of housing counseling training services nationwide that are both listed under Section III.C.2 of this NOFA and proposed in their application.

The only exception to this requirement is public or nonprofit organizations with at least 2 years experience providing Reverse Mortgage counseling training nationwide.
