Senior Legal Helplines and Model Approaches - Technical Assistance

Technical Assistance (TA) projects funded under Title IV, Section 420(a)(2) of the OAA, as amended in 2006 (P.L.

109-365), are intended to support demonstration projects to expand or improve the delivery of legal assistance to older individuals with social or economic needs.

ACL is requesting

credit:


applications under this FOA to provide Senior Legal Helplines (SLHs), and the aging/disability and legal networks involved in the Model Approaches demonstration projects, with the TA necessary to achieve the successful implementation of project goals and objectives.

ACL plans to award two (2) cooperative agreements to organizations that will provide TA to SLHs and ACL’s Model Approaches (Phases I & II) demonstration grants.

ACL plans to make awards to 2 separate organizations, with each organization assuming project responsibilities under one of the 2 funding priorities.

Applicants under this FOA may apply under only one priority.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Pursuant to Title IV, Section 420(c) of the OAA, as amended in 2006, applicants must be national nonprofit organizations experienced in providing support and technical assistance on a nationwide basis to states, area agencies on aging, legal assistance providers, ombudsmen, elder abuse prevention programs, and other organizations interested in the legal rights of older individuals.

Individuals, foreign entities, and sole proprietorship organizations are not eligible to compete for, or receive, awards made under this announcement.
