Field-Initiated RERC on Individual Mobility and Manipulation:
In the area of individual mobility and manipulation, NIDILRR seeks to fund research and development to enhance mobility, physical movement, and manipulation of the environment, and to accommodate limitations in manual dexterity among individuals with a variety of disabling conditions.

Rehabilitation engineering in this area should result in new or improved products, devices, or technological advances that allow individuals with disabilities to be more mobile, and to manipulate their environments more effectively.
