United Services Organization (USO)
Established in 1941, the USO lifts the spirits of Americas troops and their families through morale-boosting programs, including entertainment tours, free internet and phone access, electronics, personal care items and recreation services to troops in combat zones; a variety of family events; and support
to wounded, ill and injures service members and their families.
In 2013, USO centers served more than 8 million visitors at 160 locations around the world in 10 countries and 28 states; USO produced more than 103 tours entertaining 247,459 troops and military families; and managed over 50 national programs to support family strengthening, physical health, employment, and education for troops and families.
