FUNDING OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION The specific goal of this grant is to implement one NFA Aviation Classroom Experience (ACE) lab in a local middle or high school.

The National Flight Academy Aviation Classroom Experience (NFA-ACE) is a highly immersive integrated curriculum designed to stimulate


student achievement in science, technology, engineering, and math by engaging in interactive flight simulation experiences.

The primary objective is stimulating interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) and reinforcing a sound understanding of math and science skills taught in traditional core courses.

ACE supports the experiential learning of core STEM concepts in a lab environment that couples digital media, exciting virtual world game play and simulation technologies to challenge students to apply critical thinking skills.

The following is a summary of the elements included an NFA ACE package:
•Mission delivery software suite and instructional collateral •Three (3) dual-seat cockpit simulators •One (1) air traffic control workstation •Student desktop PC workstations •Room scenic/immersive design and treatment •On-site teacher training •Teacher development

Submission Requirements The proposal should: (1) Contain an executive summary not to exceed one page; (2) Describe your organization’s qualifications; and (3) Describe your organization’s past experience related to STEM; (4) In 10 pages or less describe a plan to integrate a NFA-ACE into a local middle or high school.
