that may improve the capacity and/or efficiency of forensic DNA laboratories.

Specifically, this program is designed to fund the incorporation of such novel technologies, through validation studies, into State and local government forensic laboratories that are currently performing DNA analysis.

Priority consideration will be given to proposals that focus on technologies developed as a result of NIJ’s Forensic DNA Research and Development Program.

Additionally, technologies intended to improve the efficiency of analyzing DNA samples will be given priority consideration over those that improve the identification, collection, and/or preservation of biological evidence/samples.
