African Americans of Essex County Knowledge Transfer Project

This is just public notice that NPS and the University of New Hampshire have entered into an agreement for work related to the African Americans of Essex County Knowledge Transfer Project.

The University of New Hampshire will:
Provide a series

of Kindergarten through 12th Grade educational lesson plans and supporting materials based on recent scholarship covering African American history of Essex County, MA relative to the historical developments centered on the Salem Maritime National Historical Park.

To do this the recipient shall:1) Retain and develop the scope of work through a supervised graduate student assistantship.2) Supervise the student and provide mentoring ensuring that the student employs appropriate methods and develops skills to complete the scope of work.3) Include undergraduates in the development of the scope of work.4) Provide templates and examples of all produced materials in a form that can be distributed and produced by Essex County schools and other stakeholder educational institutions, e.g., member institutions of the Essex River National Heritage Area.
