WCC is uniquely qualified to perform the activity based upon demonstrated factors, specifically, location, support capacity, technical expertise, and other unique qualifications as outlined in this document.

The National Park Service, North Cascades National Park, intends to award a Task Agreement against an established Cooperative Agreement (P11AC80257) based upon this announcement.

The Task Agreements for project work will include new fencing, fencing repair, repairing irrigation ditches in the Buckner Orchard, campground maintenance, re-vegetation work, and invasive species eradication at various sites.

THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS TO PROVIDE PUBLIC NOTICE OF THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE, INTENTION TO FUND THE FOLLOWING PROJECT ACTIVITIES WITHOUT FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION.

The National Park Service (NPS) and the State of Washington, Department of Ecology, Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) have a mutual interest in accomplishing needed conservation and environmental restoration projects in North Cascades National Park Complex (NOCA) within Washington State.

The involvement of young adults in the care and enhancement of public resources stimulates the public purpose of environmental education, development of responsible citizenship and productive community involvement.

WCC is uniquely qualified for conservation development programs related to environmental resources.

The mission of WCC is to protect and enhance the environment while developing youths aged 18 � 25 to become an inspiration of individual action within the environmental community.

The NPS and WCC desire to build upon the good record established by environmental organizations of developing youths and supporting the NPS�s facilities and resources in a cost-effective and efficient manner, especially when they have worked together in partnership with the NPS.

The NPS and WCC also wish to cooperate with one another for their mutual benefit of the people of the United States and future generations to enjoy the natural and cultural resources of the national park system.
